A cephalophore is a figure from catholic mythology who after being martyred by beheading simply picks up their head and continues on their way. Ideas cannot die.

Wood block, 30, 20 cm. After reading about the Morigon, a Celtic goddess of fate and war I wanted to make something in simple black.

Very small screen print. 11, 18cm. Based on a dress made by the famous Schiaparelli. Although a lot fo my work wouldn’t make particularly nice decoration this little print sold a lot at Christmas markets. Theres nothing wrong with making decoration too, not all your art has to be the cutting edge of your thinking and skill. Sometimes you can make something simply because you want to or think it will look nice.

Screen print, 30, 20 cm. For a long while the planet mars was visible from Scotland. I found ti a little unnerving sometimes, as if I was reminded how we too could be observed.

A quick screen print I made to get used to cutting paper stencils again.

Another screen print I made for fun. This sold well at markets but does not fit into my more academic work. Its a portrait of a holder, a type of troll in Norwegian folklore. 35, 28cm

I wanted to try a set of stencils in screen printing where I could over lap colour to gain multiple shades seen here in the scales. It depicts a scene form the Volsung saga. 70, 50cm
